Camp Gregg Va March 28th 1863
Dear Wife
it is with grate pleasure that
I grasp my pen in hand to lett
you know that I am well and
I hope these few lines may find
you and Seanuth L. J. Bradshaw and all
the rest well Dear Wife I have
no nuse worth relating at this
time onley fur lowes is stoped
we get no more fur lowes this
spring we got orders to send our
thing all off that we could
not cary and be reddy fur acttion
but I dont think that we will
fite her soon but I cant tell
what old Jo Hooker will do he
had better go home and stay thare
fur all the good that he is a doing
Mrs Nancy tell father and Mother
howdy fur me tell them that
I would be glad to see them but
god onley knowe when I will ever
get to see them now I looked
hard all this winter fur
Father but did not see him and
now fur lowes are stoped and spring
spring has come and I dont know

that he has his hands full of worke
tell him to send me aletter
and tell whether he has got
Corn a nuff or not and how
he is getting a long in his
farme and wher he is a going
to plant Corn alll the rest of
his a fares I would like to know
and heaar wher he soad his wheat
and oats and how meny hogs he
has killed fur his meat and &c
give my love to all of the famley
I have all most fur got how home
looks I think ever thing would
look strange to me I dont expect
I would know lodemay but I think
I would know what I would give
to see you and your sweet babe
but I fear I will meet with
meny a obstical be fore I get
home but I can onley say
god will be don give my love
to John queary and Frank and Josiah
tell them that I would be glad to
see them all so far well Dear loving
