you a few lines to let you know
that I am well at this time
and doing the best I can
I am at Danville Va I was
detaild here for Provost gard
and they say we will stay
here til the war ends we have
verry good fare here we have
a good brick hous to stay in
I will give you the names
of the boys that is with me
