Dear Father it is with
grate pleasur that I take the
oppr tunity of wrighting you
a few lines to let you know
that I am well & hopes this
may find you the same I hav
no news to wright I wroght
to you afew days a go but
Recid no answer for fear you
did not git it I will inform
you of my Where abouts I am
stationd on the Bluf & enjoy
ing my Slef fine git good
Rations & have but little duty
to do I like the Navy Beter
then the army I was transfd
the first of this month
I Both get Beter Clothes & Ratins
than I did in the army

no sort I want you to
Wright mee what they have
done with the home guards
I have understood they have
Been sent to the army
I dont know any thing

got out of Lees Army
