Kingston NC Feb the 5 1863
Dear ant I [ink blot] grate Plesure
this day take the Kind and effetion
ate feelings as a dear ant to drop
you a few lines to inform you that
I have not forgotton you yet and
never shal untwel I am ded
But I hope you will not think
hard of me for I cannot Right
to you all for paper is so high
But I love you as god as if I rote to
you every Week I am well and fat
as a hog and fool of ambition

But we had a hard time a few days
Ago But we have got good tents
and good chimnys to them and
good Beds to ly on and we air
faring sumptious by now and
I hope I shal stay hear during
the war I am coming home to
se you all Before long to se
how you all look give my love
to uncle and ???> tell uncle
I am mutch a bilge to him for the
letters he has Rote to me give my
love to ant Pat and her Babes
tell her I would give enny
thing if I could se her and hear
her talk one time more nothing
more yours truly from a friend
