Dear wife I Seat my Self to
informe you that I am
well at this time and
hoping when these few lines
come to hand will find
you all in the Same State
of health I can informe
you that I am wery well
Satisfied I can informe you
that on yester day we formed
the Ridgement it is though[t]
that we wont Stay at Sauss [1]
bery but no danger of that
for this morning at 2 o clock
there was 6 or 8 Diserters broke
oute a great alarm was
made and firing of guns
I would like to now how

I expect to come home in
a few weeks if nothing hap
