Dear Wife I take my pen in
hand to drop you afew lines to inform
you that I am not very Well at
pesant I have got the Bowel
complaint and Soar throat But I am
about I hope that this may find
you and all well I Want you to write
to me and let me know Wether they
are going to Bring the Balance of
the conscrips or not We get aplenty
to eat Such as it tis But We have
got nothing to cook it in Some
times We get to eat once a day and
Some to times twice I want you to
Write me Word how you are
geting along With the Well Wether
you have got it done or not We
have no Sunday here for We have
to load the cars With hard Brad and
Roten meat you must tell them
all houdy for me Write me Word
how the corn crop is geting on and

has got home or not he has Run away
from the camp over here not
far from us the pay Roll is past
over here in the other camp But it
is not past in our camp yet nor
I dont think it Will Shortly I want
you to tell Billie Walker to Write to
me henry tomason ses you must
tell Billie Walker write to him two
We are at gordenville you must
direck your leter to gordenville va
in the care of lietenant Witlock
they have been fiting five days
and Still going on yet But we are
not in it they are fiting down on
the Raper hanuck now I must close
