John Ingram Papers, 1852-1863
John Ingram (b. ca. 1831) was a Forsyth County, North Carolina farmer. According to the 1860 Census, his wife, Lucinda (n. ca. 1831), could not read or write. Ingram enlisted in Co. D, 21st NC Inf. on July 8, 1862 and was killed at Chancellorsville on May 4, 1863. Some of his letters were written for him by others.
