Deare Brother I
seat my self this morning drop
you a few lines to let you
that wee are well at this time
and I hop those few lines may
find you well and harty I
rece receiv a letter from from you
some time ago and have not anserd
it yet I we could not write when
the rest was writing and I hardly hav time to writ
now we are shucking corn we have
all of our corn getherd but that
down about the meadow we have not
getherd any of that we have
little John honeycut hard a month [2]
to plow and his month is most out
the plowing goes very slow seince
you left we have not got a letter
frome James and John for a long time
but we heard from them since the
fight James was to see Elic the night
before he wrote they war all well thir
well George I hav not mutch to
writ at this time we are going

to send you something to eat we
have not got your vest and gloves
redy we will make them as soon as
we can and send them the first
chance we have and if you have
any old socks or any old thing
that can be mended up I want you
to send it home if you have a chance
and have it mended up well George
Caroline and sis is going to school
the chool is only 3 weeks yet
Caroline told me to tel you that
she could not write this time I have
not time to write mutch at
this time I would write some for
now if I had time but I haint got
time now George I will tel you what
we are sending we are you some sweet
cake some bread some butter and a little
bottle of honey you did not take it
when you went and we wil send it to you
now we would have sent you more
but we was afraid that we could not
get it in the Box write soon S C O to her brother G F O
