And I do hope that when thies
few lines come to hand they
may find you well and doing
well I received your kind
leter yes terday which gave me
grate satis faction to lern that
you was well I am sary to lern
that the war has comenst in
that contrey I was sorry to
hier that ambers staton was kild
after his having served so long
in this hurable war
we air under generl frasure
and we hav to drill very hard
Captin Jones is permoted to major
and lieutenant maris is our captin
Sereptia I do want to see you I
dream about being with you
and I want to be thair but
times wil not a[d]mit of it now
