Miss M. C. S. Dear sister I seat
my self to drop you a few
lins I am well and I hope
that these lins may find
you injoying the like blesing
i hav no news to write
of any interest I recd. you
letter some time since but
did not hav time to anser
it untill now as we ware
buisy in puting up our
little house and chimney it is
large a nuff for two to stay in
my self and Faggart are a [2]
living just at home when
we are in our house. my
Christmas was but poor and
I exspect that my new year
will be no better I think that

If I could hav ben at home
I would hav had a much
better Christmas then I had
hear and if I would be at
home in old Cabarrus at new
year I shourly would hav to go out
a mong the girls and see how
they ware a geting a long
the boys are all well and a
wishing to be at home to take
new year thogh no chance for
them to get home yet thogh I
exspect that they are a going to
begin to write of a new at new
year for I sent to Richmond
for severel bunches of envelops
for them for such as are pretty
write and let me nowhat
for a Christmas and new year
you had at home so I must
