the preasent opportunity of
writing onesee more but it
looks like it is for nothing
for me to write home
for I hant got a letter
from home in a bout
[?] moth but however I
am all write and am
enjoying good helth and I
also hope this may find
yous all well when it
comes to hand Since I
last wrote we went to
Weldon and from there
we marched a bout 60 or
65 miles but did no fight
ing and then came back
to Weldon and from there
we came here and here
we are a puting up [??]

part of the winter and
by next spring I think
the war will be over
maby or I hope it will
end next summer eny
how I want yous to Send
me Some little things
with B F Baggers I will
name the things that
I want some buter a

a pese of Soap and a
few buiscuits I dount
know whether you hav
any sowercrout or not
if you hant got much
you dount kneed to
send me any yous dount
