Dear Father And mother
And sister I take my
pen inhand to let yow
know that I am well
at present hoping when
theas few lines come
to hand they may find
yow all well I have
nowthing mutch to Rite
to yow only I was down
at port Royal some sixty
yankees came over and
twok 2 of our waggons
and capturd Some ten
or tweve of owr cavelary
men our infrantary come
up and the yankees cross

tell yow that we ketch loots
of fish my sqwad eat three
hondred ever day while
we stayd their we made
three halls and got 15
hondred fish times is civil
hear at present I got your letter
yestoday evning and was
glad to hear that yow was
all well I Sent my coat
that I fetch off with me
and around abowt coat
and Apare of Shoes we
exspress them to charlott Mr
Rillin will get the box we
sent and when yow hear
he has got the box yow
can go up their and get
my things myon has my
name on them yow can
do what yow please with the Shoes
