Camp at Winchester 23 Regt NC troops
Dear Father And mother
And sister I Again am spard once

leavs me well And I hope they may
find you well I will Say to you
science I wrote to you Before I have
Ben to Merland but did not stay
long we cross over in the morning
And come back the next Eaving we
went About six mils in
I dont know what Early [1] object
Was in gowing but I hear that
our cavelary had got And
By him gowing that would giv
A chance in getting out they went
To chambersberg in Painsilvania
And Burnt the citty it was A con
place I herd that they Burnt 300 hondred
howses I will tell you that I Recivd

we are in Aline of Battle But

think the yankees will come hear
And if they do I know we can
