Biography: 

Thomas Rogers (b. ca. 1808) was a farmer from Duplin County. His son, Calvin J. Rogers (b. ca. 1842), and his brother, John B. Rogers (b. ca. 1837), enlisted as privates in Co. A, 43rd NC Inf. on March 6, 1862. Calvin was wounded at Cold Harbor on June 2, 1864 and surrendered at Appomattox on April 9, 1865. John died of pneumonia at Goldsboro in January 1863.
