Biography: 

The Alley family was from near Franklinton in Franklin County. Francis T. Alley (b. ca. 1814) was a cabinet maker. At time of the 1860 Census, he and his wife, Beady (b. ca. 1818) had six children living at home, including Isaiah (age 19), a farm laborer. The name “Beady” (spelled “Bedie” in the Census) may be a form of “Betty.” Francis T. Alley and Isaiah D. Alley served as privates in Co. F, 47th NC Inf.
