Biography: 

Robert N. Chatham served as the commander of Co. G, South Carolina 19th Infantry. He served as commanding officer for Thomas Boyd while in the Army of Tennessee. He was a graduate of South Carolina College. He wrote Robert Boyd, Thomas's father, about Thomas's death in battle. Robert N. Chatham himself was mortally wounded on May 29, 1864 in Paulding County, Georgia at New Hope Church. He died of his wounds within the day.
