deir wife i take my pen in hand to let
you no that i am well at this time
hoping when this com to hand it mey
find you an the children all well i
reseved your kind leter yistrday evning
i was glad to heir from you an to heir
that you was an the children was all
well i glad to heir from J.T. Boyd i exspect
he has seen hard times sinc he lef home i no he
wold like to be at home an so wold i like
to be at hom i hop an trust to god the
time will sune com when we will all
git to com hom an pese be mad i am
like J T Boyd i thought i sed harde times
at home but it wold be a plesher for
me to be at hom to see them hard tims
now well i have not mutch news to write to you
at this tim i wroat you leter las tusday
we ar camp on the sovana rale road five miles
from charleston our company is beter satisfided
heir then tha war at Adams run but
i exspect we will have to go back thir before
long but we do not no when

was a good paster heir we all turnd our
horses out on Sunday morning an thir was
twelve or forteen of them run of i got
mine day befor ystrday i got him a bout
eighteen miles from heir W.N Hall got
his las night we have to go a good pese
to picket we have to gard three Bridges
two of the Bridges is a bout twenty miles
of we have nothing mutch to do ondly to provent
pepel from driveing thir catel an hogs over
in to charleston an to notis all the wagons
se that tha have no meat in them i
wold ruther be heir than to be in camp
with the Regiment we los one man out of
our company he died las sunday at Adams
Run with the typhoid fever his name was
Marion Branion he live a bout Donelsville
you want to no if R. Mcadams pad me
for that tobaco he did not he tole me that
lisey ann wold pay you for it he sed
tha was five pounds two ponds of it
you ot to have eighty sence for it
but i dont exspct you will ever git it but
maby tha will pay for it i will be sorow
if you dont git pay for it after your trobel
of rasing of the tobacco
