W. V. Fleming Correspondences, SPR

William V. Fleming (1822-1905) was a Covington County, Alabama farmer. At the time of the 1860 Federal Census, Fleming was living on his small farm with his wife, Margaret (1833-1909), and their five children. Fleming served as a sergeant in the Covinton County militia early in the war, and by 1864 as a lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion Alabama Infantry Reserves. After the war, he and his family moved to Santa Rosa County, Florida.
