      Biography: 
    Ben F. Thrower (b. ca. 1841) enlisted as a private in Co. B, 1st Alabama Cavalry in November 1861 and died at Baldwin, Mississippi sometime in 1862 (exact date and cause not specified). He was the son of Thomas W. Thrower (b. GA ca. 1801), a planter in Lowndes County, Alabama, and Elender (b. SC ca. 1808). His four brothers also served in the Confederacy.
