Biography:
Apsey Wallis (b. ca. 1815) was widowed relative of the Poe family. At the time of the 1860 census, she was living in Carroll County, Mississippi with her son, Asa (b. ca. 1830), and her two grown daughters, Nancy and Francis. Francis was a widow with two small children. All the adult members of the family were born in Alabama. Asa Wallis served as a private in the 28th Mississippi.
