William W. Christian (1823-1885) was a resident of Walker County, Alabama. He served in the Alabama Light Artillery as a private during the Civil War. He appears to be a relative of the Poe family through the McMillian line; his grandparents were Nancy and James McMillian, who lived with their daughter Mary, her husband James Poe, and their Poe children.
