My dear Mother I tak my pin in hand
to write you Afew linds to inform you
that I am well and hope that theas
linds may fiend you the Same I have
Nothing of importance to rite to you
I have not heard from Father Sence
he left and I want you to Rite to
me whare he is if you and rite to
him to rite to me for I am Ancious
to hear from him and I want you
to Rite to me as often as you can
for you dont Know [how] proud I am
when I get A letter from home
philip is wll and doing well
we ear Camp Near Kingston
at this time but I dont Know
how long we will Stay hear
nor I dont whear we will go when
we leave hear direct your letters
to Knoxville tenn so no More
