Well Father
I seat myself once
more to write you a few lines
to inform you of my health
which is good I recd your
letter the 19th & was glad
to hear from you we are still
at Brandy station but I
dont think we shall stay
here a good while we are
under marching orders to march
within 48 hours but we may
not go from here for a
long time the Cars run up
here now I have just been over

to the Station about a mile
I went over to find some
writing paper I came of[f] guard
this morning so I have thursday
to myself to day to go where I
please the rest of the Boys are
out Drilling I recd that money
you need not send any more
you wanted to know what
I done with so much money
you thought I spent to much I
have not wasted it , I have a
watch worth $,25.00 so that is
not wasted I have spent the
rest for Eatables every thing
is so high out heer that $,25.00
dont go a great ways
Butter is, 60 ct per Pound
cheese is 40 ct Apples 8 cts a
piece & I must have some
butter & Cheese once in a

while I guess but about
that box I think there
will be know trouble in sending
it the rest of our boys dont
have any trouble in getting
their boxes you need not send
it until I wrote for you to
but get ready so you can send
it when I get ready you may
keep my Horse now you have
sold yours I think you sold
yours to cheap I will send
Ella one of the new Currancy
bills tell her to do what she
is a mind to with it I
must stop writing I have
not heard from Byran since
we left Culpeper I sent a dollar
to him for him to send me a
dollars worth of postage Stamps
but I have never heard from it
