Well Father
I seat myself once more
to pen you a few lines to let
you know that I am well
& hope these few lines will
find you the same I have
not had a letter from you
for some time, there is three
Mails due here now but we
do not know when they will
be along before long I hope.
I have not got that box yet
I expect it the next mail
I want you to git me a

good pair of French Calf
number 7 Boots & send to me
my boots are beginning to
brak out & I do not want
to draw enny goverment
boots for they will not
last two months I want
you soon as you can send
me a good pair of stretcher
suspenders & two or three
pounds of dried apple
how is all of the folks at
home I shall look for two
or three letters when we
do git a mail,
you must excuse a short
letter this time for it is
bed time & the mail goes
out tomorrow morn,
git me some good boots
now & when we git payd of[f]
again I will send you money
