Ezra Getchell (b. ca. 1844) was the son of Eleanor and Joel Getchell (b. ca. 1810), a farmer residing in New Portland, Somerset County, Maine. He served as a private in Co. K, 2nd Maine Cavalry. His older brother, Otis Getchell (b. ca. 1841) served as a private in Co. G, 17th Maine Infantry.
