Father & Mother
I seat myself this eavening
to pen you a few lines
to let you know that
I am well & hope these
few lines will find you
the same,
I recd that box to day
was verry glad to git it
it come first rate the
apples had rottid some
but the Cakes, butter
Cheese, dried apple, ginger
bread, Shirt, Stockings

& every thing else come in
good shape it come the
best of enny box that
has come to the Company
the Boys all say they
guess that my Mother
knows how to pack boxes
to send off.
those Shirts & Stockings
is just as nice as can bee
I think more of them than
I do of all the rest
that butter is nice to it
is the best that I have
seen since I left home
every thing is nice & of
which I am mutch
obliged,
we was out an a raid
after lumber yesterday
we had a pretty good
time we went in a steam
boat

We have not had enny
mail for a great while
I hope we shall have one
soone, the mail leaves
here for New york to morrow
morn at half past seven
oclock, my eyes are sore
& I do not like to write
in the night so I shall
have to close I want you
to send me a good pair
of No 7 boots as soon
as you can I ought to
of sent for them before
but my boots gave out
sooner than I expected
my health is just as
good now as ever it was
good by write soon as
you git this if we do
not git a mail soon I
shall have a pile of
letters when they do come
