Daniel Ohumacht and James Hoepstine were both born ca. 1844 and both resided in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania at the time of the 1860 Census. It is unclear what connection the two might have had, if any. At the time of the 1860 Census, Daniel Ohumacht (spelled Omacht in the Census) was living in the household of his father, Frederick. Daniel Ohumacht served as a private in Co. H, 48th Pennsylvania Infantry.
