Biography: 

Jefferson Hartman (b. ca. 1844) was the brother of Samuel P. Hartman (b. ca. 1840). He may also have served in the 49th Pennsylvania, in Co I, or in the 30th Pennsylvania Militia, an emergency unit that served during the summer of 1863. The Hartman family was from Shamokin, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.
