Biography: 

Zadoc Griffin Rhodes (b. 1841) was from Plattskill, Ulster County, New York. He mustered into service as a private with Co. A, 156th New York Infantry in August 1862. He was promoted to commissary sergeant in September 1864 and mustered out with his regiment at Augusta, Georgia, on October 23, 1865. His parents were John L. Rhodes and Elizabeth Wygant Rhodes. Zadoc Rhodes married Mary Elizabeth Halwick and the couple were parents of 4 children. He passed away on October 13, 1921 in Poughkeepsie, New York.
