Dear Mother
I write you a few lines to let you
know how I am at present hoping those those few
lines may find you all well this leaves me
in good health I havent got much to write only
to let you know I am going to start to the
front in the morning You may direct
your letters to the 36th hearafte they was too Doctors
Come around and examined all of the [????]
day before yesterday if I could only have pass
[than???] I would have stayed here all winter
Doctor [????] says he has for me to goe he
Says if I get wounded to try and come to him
that is what I exspect to doo you must tell
Mr Fos he must come and see me when he
coms back to the front you must send me
a pare of Shoes by him that is if you can
get them maid by the time he coms back
I dont think you nead be a fraid of him
not coming back tell him to come
to French Division Sears Brigade 36th Miss Regt
I would like to see him it looks like he
has bin gone three month you must write
soon and often I wish I could get to
goe by Grandmother but I wont I wish

The army had bin at Blue mountain
If they had I would have stoped at
Grand Mothers Shore you must excuse
my short letter this time I will writ
again when I get to the front Give my
respects to all the Blackones tell Lias
I am rite side up yet tell him I would like
to see him very much and talk over
