Sally Culbertson lived in Laurens District, South Carolina. She was married to Young J. Culbertson Sr. (b. ca. 1797). Several of her sons served in the Confederacy, including her son-in-law William Irby Box and her son Young J. Culbertson Jr., who died at the Battle of Gettysburg in July 1863.
