My Diear wife I seat my
Self with pleasure to
drop yeu A few lins to
inform you that I am
well hoping thes lins ma
find you all well I hav
reseav three letter to day
two that S Barten brung
& one that Cum by male
which was dated June the
4 I was Proud of them you
ma Know & thankful to
the lord to hear that you
was all well & doin well
I am glad to hear you
hav got A good Crop &
A giting A long So well
with it Mathursa we
hav bin hear three days

My Dear Sister in Christ I take this
opertunity to write a few lines in
Harisons letter as I waunt to thank
you for nameing in your letter that
My dear Sarah & little Children was
well I have had no letter from them
since we left the Run & was so
glad to heare that they was well
& if you got these lines tel them
that I am well at this time but
I set down to try to write a few
Lines to you for I saw Harisons lett
er & I feel that you are nearly out
of hart but our Blessed Savior
has told us to be of good Cheer for
He has over come the World & all
things work together for good to
them that love God & if we love
him we have nothing to feer
for if God be for us who can be
aganst us you requested Me to
remember you in My Prayers
I will do the best I can & I make

you will remember us & our Distres
ed Country Give My love to all
of your Children & tel them howdy
for me I say to you & My Dearest Wife
dont get out of hart for The Lord
God omnipotent reigneth it is
a dark day for us it is true the
darkest time is Just before day
let us hope on that the day of [????]
is next at [???????????????????]
be permited to return to our
Dearest Wives & little Children
& live in really hapiness we hav
a hard time heare but not so hard
but it could be worse let us thank
God that we are alive & well today
& trust Him for grace to healp us
to morow & May God bless you &
your little Children with My
Dear Sarah & Children & keep
all from the evils of this trobl[?]
World & May we all live so that
if we never Meete in this World of
troble May we all Meete in that
better World wheare parting & [??]
& sorow will be known no more
