Richmond .Va. Jan 11th
Dear Brother
I seat my self to inform that
I am well at the present time
and hope that when these few lines
Comes to hand they will find
you enjoying the same blessing
Jim you said in sises letter that
you had at notion to join the
Army and if you do join I
want you to join some Company
their to stay at home for the
yankees are in about One hundred
and fifty miles of lafayette
and I want you and all of the
rest of the boys to keep the
weasels away from home while
we keep them away from here
polk Ambrose was here last
week and started for home
on sunday I went up to
the Depo and seen him start
