Biography:
James Rubin Poe (1824-1864) resided in Fayette County, Alabama. He was a farmer. He and his wife Lemily or Lamiley (1828-1908) had at least eight children before the Civil War. He served in the 12th Alabama Cavalry and then the 9th Alabama Cavalry. He was taken prisoner and died at Camp Morton prison camp in Indiana on August 18, 1864.
