Brackett Family
The Bracketts were a farm family from Yarmouth, Cumberland County, Maine. Orrin William Brackett (b. ca 1841) served as a private in Co. G, 25th Maine Infantry (a nine-month regiment, 1862-1863) and in the 1st Battalion Maine Light Artillery. His brother, Alvin M. Brackett (b. ca. 1843) served as a private in Co. F, 1st Maine Cavalry. Alvin was mortally wounded during the Dahlgren raid in Virginia on March 1, 1864.
