William Band
William Band (b. ca. 1833) was a machinist from the Upland community of Chester Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. At the time of the 1860 Census (the name was spelled Bond in the Census), Band and his wife, Mary Ann (b. ca. 1835) were living in the household of William Forsyth. William Band was born in Pennsylvania, and Mary Ann was born in England. William Band mustered into service as a private in Co. I, 3rd Pennsylvania Cavalry on August 17, 1861 and mustered out with his company on August 24, 1864. At the time of the 1870 Census, William was back home in Upland working as a machinist, and he and Mary Ann were the parents of two small children.
