Biography: 

William Jefferson Honnoll resided in Tishamingo County, Mississippi and served as a private in Co. D, 23rdMississippi Infantry, formerly called the 2ndMississippi Infantry (Davidson’s) and the 3rdMississippi Infantry.  He was captured at Fort Donelson on February 15, 1862 and confined at Camp Douglas, Illinois before being paroled and exchanged.  His service records indicate that he left his command in January 1865 and surrendered at LaGrange, Tennessee on May 12, 1865.
