Ballard-Garman Family Letters
Daniel R. Garman was from Henry County, Indiana. He mustered into service as a private in Co. C, 36th Indiana Infantry on Oct. 23, 1861 and mustered out on September 21, 1864. His three letters were written to his brother, George W. Garman back in Henry County. There is also a letter from another brother, J. J. Garman, who was farming in Woodbury County, Iowa in 1865.
