      Biography: 
    Eliab H. Barkley (1825-1905) was a former resident of Anderson County, South Carolina, but he later relocated to DeKalb County, Alabama. He served in Co. D., 18th South Carolina Infantry and survived the war. He was married to Anah Lucinda McCalister; together the couple had at least four children. He appears to have received a homstead patent from Huntsville, Alabama for nearly forty acres in 1899.
