Biography:
Josiah M. Barkley (b. ca. 1798) was a farmer who resided in Anderson District, South Carolina. He was married to Elizabeth (b. ca. 1799). They both survived the war; Josiah died before the 1880 census. The couple had at least five children, three of whom were sons who served the Confederacy.
