Biography:
William Henry Harrison Lee (b. ca. 1841) was from Greenville District, South Carolina. He was married to an older widow, Mathursa Fowler Montgomery Lee (b. ca. 1825), and they cared for her previous marriage's children as well as their own. William served as a private in Co. H, 16th South Carolina Infantry (the Greenville Regiment). He enlisted on December 30, 1861 and died “of fever” in a hosptial at Meridian, Mississippi in August 1863. Mathursa appears to have remarried after his death.
