Malinda Averett (b. ca. 1836) was a resident of Tallapoosa County, Alabama. She was married to Harris H. Averett (b. ca. 1834), who served in Co. B, 55th Alabama Infantry. At the time of the Federal Census of 1860, they were living in the Realtown neighborhood, where Harris made his living as a mechanic. They had married in January 1857. The Averetts had at least two children, Amon (b. ca. 1859) and Hattie (b. ca. 1863). Harirs died of disease in 1863, and Malinda died before the 1880 census.
