Amos Henry
Amos Henry (b. Oct. 20, 1828) was a miller from Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. He served as a corporal in Co. C, 173rd Pennsylvania Infantry (drafted militia). The 173rd was organized in Harrisburg during October and November of 1862. Their first assignment was staying at Norfolk, Virginia to July 1863. After that, they had a brief duty assignment to join with the Army of Potomac until August 18, 1863. From there, Amos was mustered out. According to the 1870 Census, Amos was still married to his wife and frequent letter recipient Cortilia. They now had 5 children, including two that came after his war service. Amos died on June 30, 1890, and Cortilia died on October 10, 1893.
