Biography: 

Jeremiah Oswald was the brother of Peter Oswald (b. ca. 1850) and the son of Elizabeth and John Oswald, a laborer. He served as a corporal in Co. G, 176th Pennsylvania (Drafted Militia) from November 1862 to August 1863. The Oswald (at times spelled Oswalt) family was from Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
