Biography: 

George K. Evans (b. ca. 1820) of Buckingham County, Virginia, served as a private in Co. K, 4th Cavalry. According to the 1860 Census, Evans was a farmer who lived with his mother, Susan W. Evans. Evans owned $2,500 worth of personal estate. He later married Mariah Evans (b. cir. 1825), who worked in 1870 as a housekeeper in Montgomery County, Virginia.
