Biography: 

Jacob J. Rogers (b. ca. 1843) resided in DeKalb County, Alabama. He served in Co. E, 12th Alabama Infantry. He was wounded on Sept. 17, 1862 at the Battle of Antietam. He was also listed as absent wounded in the summer of 1863. Jacob overstayed a furlough home and was declared AWOL in February 1864. He returned to duty and survived the war.
