Biography:
John Rogers (1841-1864) resided in DeKalb County, Alabama. He and his two brothers, Jacob and James, served in the Confederacy. John and Jacob enlisted in Co. E, 12th Alabama Infantry on June 13, 1861. John Rogers eventually rose to the rank of Captain, was wounded at the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, and died of his wounds on May 17, 1864.
