Andrew H. Rose (b. ca. 1844) was from Dover, Cuyahoga County, Ohio and served as a private (later sergeant) in Co. A, 124th Ohio Infantry. At the time of the 1860 census, Andrew Rose was living in the household of his father, John Rose, a successful farmer who was born in England ca. 1816. Andrew’s mother, Ellen Rose, was born on the Isle of Man ca. 1817. Andrew and his five sisters and his young brother were all born in Ohio. At the time of the 1870 census, Andrew Rose was 26 and still living on the family farm in Dover.
