Biography: 

Oliver Martin (b. ca. 1817) was a farmer in Pickens District, South Carolina. He lost his first wife in 1858, whom he had five children with. He remarried in 1860 to Elizabeth. He had five children: William T. (b. ca. 1842), Mary E. (b. ca. 1844), Elizabeth Jane (b. ca. 1846), Anna (b. ca. 1849), and John Freeman (b. ca. 1855). His eldest son William T. served and died in the Confederacy. Oliver also served in the Confederacy at the end of the Civil War.
