Biography: 

Elizabeth Jane Martin (b. ca. 1846) was from a farm family in Pickens District, South Carolina. She had four siblings: William T. (b. ca. 1842), Mary E. (b. ca. 1844), Anna (b. ca. 1849), and John Freeman (b. ca. 1855). Her eldest brother William T. served and died in the Confederacy. Her father also served in the Confederacy at the end of the Civil War.
